Snow Desert

This may come as a shock to some, but there is a lot of snow in Wisconsin. Sometimes the wind lazily moves it around, causing it to look like sand dunes.

This was taken last year on our way to pick up my sister from college. The snow was drifting onto the roads like this, and an hour-long drive took two. It was horrible, dangerous, and beautiful at the same time. Uploaded for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Forces of Nature. First time I’ve done a weekly challenge in a while.

I think snow is often forgotten about as a force of nature, until a place like, oh, I don’t know, Texas, gets an inch and everybody goes crazy. But in Wisconsin, and actually even where I’m at in Pennsylvania now, it’s a yearly battle and accepted as a dangerous truth.
